Consumers will get to taste the produce of some of West Cork’s leading food producers at the Macroom Food Festival, which kicks off today and continues until Monday.

Teams of teenagers are set to battle it out in a live cook-off as part of a Cork market town’s first food festival this weekend.

They have only 320 students.

PATRICK MAHER (Davis College, Mallow), who has the national junior 400m hurdles record and qualification for the world junior championships under his belt, will bid for a double in the 400m hurdles and 400m flat at the Munster Schools Championships at the CIT Track in Bishopstown on Saturday.
