Vodafone says it is in advanced talks to sell its 45% stake of Verizon Wireless back to the US mobile phone service provider for $130bn in cash and stock.

Reports in the Financial Times have indicated that mobile operator Vodafone could sell off up to half of its 45 per cent stake in US company Verizon Wireless.

Irish call centre solution company Braxtel has gone into receivership.
