Plans for another oyster farm in a scenic West Cork harbour will strangle the bay, environmentalists have claimed.

An international activist dubbed salmon farming’s “public enemy number one” is set to boost the campaign against two major fish farming projects off the south and west coasts.

A third generation West Cork fisherman has said fishermen are objecting to a proposed fish farm in Bantry Bay because if it proceeds, they “won’t be able to access their shellfish pots” in bad weather.
