Four people who assisted the recovery of a man who was without a pulse for a half-hour after a cardiac incident were honoured at a community awards ceremony in West Cork at the weekend.

Members of the emergency services, who came to the rescue of scores of people in Bandon twice last December, were hailed as heroes at the annual West Cork Community Awards on Friday night.
