THE proposed break-up of Aer Rianta into three separate airports went a step further yesterday with the appointment of the board members for the Dublin Airport Authority.

TRANSPORT Minister Seamus Brennan continued to ignore union pleas for an independent review of his plans to break up Aer Rianta yesterday and named the new board to run Shannon Airport.

The Minister for Transport, Seamus Brennan TD has announced the appointments of the Chairpersons of the independent and autonomous State-owned airport authorities for Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.

NO special compensation package will be put in place for Shannon Airport when the stopover is abolished, the European Commission has warned.
