Integrated education in the North suffered a serious blow today when the governors of a school opened less than five years ago announced it must close next year because of a lack of pupils.

Church and political leaders in Northern Ireland had a vested interest in preventing children of different religions being educated together, former Northern Ireland Secretary Mo Mowlam said today.
