CRH’s profits before tax were down 10% to €606m year-on-year in the six months to the end of June, the construction firm has announced.

CRH, the world’s second-biggest maker and distributor of building materials, agreed to buy Tyco International Ltd’s Ancon Building Products business for £88 million (€109m) in cash.
