IN Clonakilty, Co Cork, the local Amnesty group recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with special guest Michael Moane, an attorney who spoke of his work with Guantanamo prisoners, and the ongoing efforts to obtain fair hearings for the men, many of whom have never been linked to terrorist activity.

EVER since the 9/11 attacks on the USA hundreds of people have been unlawfully detained in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba in conditions that have amounted to cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment.

WE are delighted that Irish people in general do not appear to accept the 'extraordinary rendition' of people held by the US authorities in their 'war on terror.'
