Anti-war protesters are due to picket this weekend’s Salthill International Airshow which will feature the first Irish visit of the US Air Force’s elite Thunderbirds squadron.

Engineering group GKN is cutting 1,250 jobs worldwide as it responds to the slowdown in the automotive and aerospace markets, it said today.
