The Irish arm of aircraft leasing firm, Aercap last year plunged into the red with losses of $75m (€65.89m) in spite of revenues jumping by 30%.

A Shannon-based aircraft leasing firm last year returned to profit to record pre-tax profits of $40m (€32m), figures show.

PRE-TAX profits at a Dutch- owned Shannon-based aircraft leasing company decreased by 38% to $45 million (€32.8m) in 2009.
