A woman believed to have given birth in the bathroom of her boyfriend’s apartment before tossing her newborn daughter to her death from a seventh-storey window was being held without bail on a murder charge, police and prosecutors said.

A man who gained custody of his daughter four years ago has been charged with beating her to death inside their home last month, authorities said.
