THE giant Aughinish Alumina (AAL) plant on the Shannon Estuary had an unauthorised arrangement with an official of the Shannon Regional Fisheries permitting the company not to report certain breaches of its pollution control licence.

A WEST Limerick anti- pollution group has told the EPA it has no confidence in the agency to properly monitor the giant Aughinish Alumina plant which recently reported a spillage of around 50,000 litres of caustic soda.
