David Gillick has kept alive the possibility of taking a place in the 4x400m relay squad for Rio at the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam.

It may have taken seven years, but Olive Loughnane can finally call herself a world champion, and what’s more, she now has the medal to prove it.

Loughnane has received her 2009 World Championship gold medal for the 20k race walk.
