British Prime Minister Theresa May has said the European Council is "standing together" on the Salisbury nerve agent attack as she warned the threat from Russia "respects no borders".

Leaders of Britain, the US, Germany and France have issued a joint statement blaming Russia for the Salisbury poison attack.

Investigators have been summoned for emergency talks on the crisis in Salisbury, where the fallout from a suspected nerve agent attack continues to widen.
