A 26-year-old man from the Ballina area has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of two elderly brothers at their home in Castlebar on Wednesday.

In recent years certainties once absolute and unquestioned have been exposed one after the other. Citadels have fallen and reputations lost almost irretrievably.
