Many victims of modern slavery are being “hidden in plain sight” across Britain, British home secretary Theresa May has warned following the discovery of three women allegedly held as slaves for at least 30 years.

As police in Britain continue their probe into the enslavement of three women — one Irish — for 30 years, support groups here have urged greater focus on the potential of slavery in this country.

The suspects bailed after three women were alleged to have been held as slaves for 30 years were previously arrested in the 1970s.
