Leonard Nimoy, the actor known and loved by generations of Star Trek fans as the pointy-eared, purely logical science officer Mr Spock, has died.

Leonard Nimoy - famous for his role as Spock in Star Trek - has died aged 83.

Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy was reportedly rushed to hospital with "severe chest pain" last week.
