The President of UCD Students’ Union, Katie Ascough, who has been impeached following a referendum by students, has today described the circumstances leading up to her removal as a blow to freedom of speech, of thought, and of association.

I reckon that only one in six students (4,540) on UCD’s Belfield campus in Stillorgan voted to fire their student union presisent, Katie Ascough. 

The UCD students’ union president has been impeached, for the first time in the university’s history.

Katie Ascough is a pro-life activist who's been criticised for removing abortion information from a student handbook.
