The “strong odours” allegedly associated with a jarvey business in tourism haven Killarney are making life uncomfortable for neighbouring families.

A 17-year-old whose family has been in the jarvey business for three generations has emerged as the winner of the only horse and carriage hackney licence to be publicly advertised in the town’s recent history.

Dozens of applications have been received for a single Killarney jarvey licence — the first hackney horse and carriage licence to have been publicly advertised in generations.
