A recently discovered painting by the internationally renowned artist Jack Butler Yeats which lay hidden in a bank vault for 52 years sold for more than triple its guide price today.

A treasure trove of love, owned by one the country’s most renowned internationally known artists, lay hidden in a bank vault for decades until it was found two years ago.

A select collection of works by Jack Butler Yeats and John Butler Yeats from the Model arts centre in Sligo, home of the important Niland Collection, have gone on tour for the first time with the opening of an exhibition in Wexford at the weekend.
