A woman who got a new heart and new lungs six months ago has welcomed record-breaking transplant figures, and urged people to talk to their loved ones about organ donation.

Three months ago, she underwent a high-risk double lung and heart transplant after a record 15-year wait.

Isabel Terry, 41, from Cork, who has been on a transplant list for 14 years, last night flew from Cork Airport with her partner, Philip, on the private aircraft bound for Newcastle after the HSE failed to arrange air ambulance transport.
