The father of the Republic of Ireland U17s goalkeeper sent off during last night's penalty shoot-out has said he is "outraged" at the way the referee treated his son.

After the cruel manner in which they crashed out of the U-17 European Championships, Republic of Ireland manager Colin O'Brien had nothing but praise for what he described as an "extraordinary" group of players.

The Republic of Ireland Under-17s have won their final qualifier for the UEFA Under-17 European Championships against Poland.
