A takeover deal has saved more than half the jobs at a failed waste management company.

A potential buyer has emerged for a failed waste firm at the centre of a sit-in protest which has closed with losses of some €2m and 25 jobs.

Up to 25 staff of a well-known Cork waste firm began a sit-in at its premises last night after being told the company was closing and they were losing their jobs.
