The 30th anniversary of Bloody Sunday today comes amid mounting complaints about the cost of the inquiry into the events of the day.

Those blamed for the events of Bloody Sunday should not face criminal proceedings, veteran civil rights lawyer Sir Louis Blom-Cooper QC said today.

The Bloody Sunday Inquiry is being asked to look into the possibility that evidence may have been suppressed by staff working on the original Widgery Inquiry.
