Clare defender David McInerney was honoured as the 2013 Bord Gáis Energy Under-21 Hurler of the Year at the inaugural Team of the Year Awards ceremony last night in Croke Park.

The 2011 Bord Gáis Energy GAA Under-21 Hurling Championship was launched at Croke Park today, ahead of the Championship opener in Munster between Waterford and Tipperary next Wednesday.

The 2010 Bord Gáis Energy All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was launched at Croke Park today where the competition sponsors also unveiled a new team of ambassadors who will support this year’s campaign of activity to promote U-21 hurling.

The GAA have announced that Bord Gais will be the new sponsors of the GAA Under-21 hurling championship for 2008 and 2009, taking over from Erin Foods.

THE ever-growing popularity of the GAA’s inter-county U21 competitions was confirmed with the announcement yesterday that Erin Foods are to sponsor the hurling championship at the grade until 2006.
