The Director of Corporate Enforcement has withdrawn his appeal against the High Court’s refusal to make a disqualification order against a former senior manager with National Irish Bank.

THE High Court has been asked to bar former National Irish Bank (NIB) chief executive Jim Lacey from involvement in any company.

TWO former senior managers with National Irish Bank have been disqualified from involvement in the management of a company on grounds of unfitness arising from the investigation into the 1990s tax evasion scandal.

A RETIRED senior manager with National Irish Bank was yesterday disqualified by the High Court for six years from involvement in the management of a company on grounds of unfitness arising out of the findings of an investigation into the tax evasion scandal at the bank in the 1990s.

The Chairman of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee Micheal Noonan has warned that another tax evasion scandal could be in the pipeline.
