The World Rowing Cup regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland, presents Ireland’s seniors with a final chance to test themselves before the year’s main event, the World Rowing Championships in September.

Rowing Ireland’s High Performance director, Morten Espersen confirmed this week he is resigning from his position, bringing to a close a huge contribution made by the Dane over the past four years. 

The Irish men’s lightweight four of Paul Griffin, Richard Archibald, Eugene Coakley and Cathal Moynihan have booked themselves a place in the semi-finals of the World Rowing Championships in Munich today by finishing third in their quarter-final.
