The final of the Rockybay Munster Hurdle produced a worthy winner as Comeout Russell smashed the track record with a tremendous display.

Last Sunday night’s Produce Stakes final was a good example of why a degree of outside input is crucial to the future of the greyhound racing, if it’s going to make any appeal to punters.

The surface at Curraheen Park has been very fast in recent months and so it was no great surprise to see two track records broken on Saturday night, but the hardest question to answer is why it took so long for the 550 mark to go.
