St Patrick’s Day, inextricably linked with excessive drinking and anti-social behaviour, is undergoing something of a rebranding. 

From highly professional processional spectacles to downright paddywhackery, villages and towns throughout the country laid it on thick yesterday in honour of our national saint.

Limerick is to go alcohol free for four hours on St Patrick's Day.
