A special Halloween Garda operation has resulted in a seizure of over €2,300 worth of fireworks in Graiguenemanagh, Co Kilkenny.

EXTRA gardaí are to be drafted into action in Cork city and suburbs in a crackdown on the use of illegal fireworks as part of Operation Tombola.

SOME 11 people have been charged under newly amended fireworks legislation as part of a major garda crackdown.
