US senators who want a hearing into the Lockerbie bomber’s release were urged to sign a letter asking the Scottish Government to hold its own public inquiry into the tragedy, it emerged last night.

LIBYA will pay $10m (€9.1m) to each of the 270 victims of the 1988 Lockerbie airliner bombing after accepting civil responsibility for the blast, Foreign Minister Abdel Rahman Shalgham said.
