IRELAND’S elite Olympic sailors are amongst the favourites at the third multi-class ISAF Sailing World Championships which start this weekend at Perth, Australia.

A TENSE final race, less than half an hour in length, decided the Laser Radial class at the Sail for Gold Regatta at Weymouth on Saturday with Ireland’s Annalise Murphy claiming a bronze medal.

PETER O’LEARY’S hopes reaching the medal race final at Weymouth were ended yesterday when he and David Burrows finished the Star class series in 12th overall after a disappointing day. Annalise Murphy won her penultimate race in the Laser Radial and begins the medal race in third overall this morning.
