Ireland is lining up the same savage cuts as a feared International Monetary Fund (IMF) rescue, the country’s top banker warned today.

Central Bank Governor Patrick Honohan has said that the Government's budgetary plan is very much the sort of policy package the International Monetary Fund would try to impose in Ireland.
