Bermuda woke to the aftermath of one of its worst hurricanes today.

Big waves pounded Bermuda's beaches today as islanders rushed to board up windows, fill sandbags and stock up on water, food and other supplies before Hurricane Igor's expected arrival.

Authorities in central Mexico were on alert today for possible mudslides and flooding as the remnants of Hurricane Karl pushed inland hours after the storm swept on to the Gulf coast and killed two people.
