LATEST: Taoiseach Enda Kenny has defended the Government's decision not to disclose whether Ireland voted to elect for Saudi Arabia to a major body on human rights.

Ireland will be examined on its record on civil and political rights at the UN Human Rights Committee hearing in Geneva this morning.

IRELAND will step up its continued support of human rights globally, as it seeks election to the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Taoiseach announced.
