The corridors of power in the GAA have proven a tougher battleground than anything Liam Griffin experienced on the field of play when leading Wexford hurlers to All-Ireland glory in 1996.

A hundred years to the day that Patrick Pearse stepped on to O’Connell Street and proclaimed an Irish Republic, the GAA will hold its extravagant commemoration of the most seminal moment in modern Irish history. 

BRYAN SHEEHAN, the favourite to captain All-Ireland champions Kerry next season, admits a return to the Kingdom’s starting 15 is his ‘number one priority’ for next season.

ANY chance Kerry can get back to football? Don’t hold your breath, but if there are two GAA teams capable of serving up the best of Kingdom fare in tomorrow’s AIB county SFC final in Tralee, they are An Ghaeltacht and Laune Rangers (3pm).

The GAA may be prepared to turn to arbitration to sort out the growing number of appeals and objections.
