A man has told a trial jury he received a text from his friend, who is accused of murdering a man, saying: “I think I murdered someone last night.”

Childline received more than 1,200 calls, texts, and other messages on Christmas Day, traditionally one of its busiest days of the year.

Action was only undertaken to replace lead mains pipes in a large Tralee, Co Kerry, estate where lead in drinking water had been four times the accepted norm in response to "constant pressure" from the Environmental Protection Agency, a court has been told.
