Members of the gardaí have been invited by the PSNI to march in this year's Belfast Pride parade.

Calls for an end to the North's ban on same sex marriage found colourful voice on the streets of Belfast as thousands packed the city centre for the annual Pride parade.

The organisers of a gay pride parade were today urged to ensure that there will be no repeat of the controversy surrounding last year’s event when a participant displayed a placard suggesting Jesus was a homosexual.
