The Irish senior boxing team were celebrating a treble today after David Oliver Joyce, Darren O'Neill and Con Sheehan claimed three golds at the 2009 European Union Championships in Odense, Denmark, today.

Ken Egan moved to within one fight of winning his ninth Irish senior title in a row following a 16-3 semi-final win over Denis Hogan at the Elite National Senior Championships at the National Stadium in Dublin tonight.

Darren Sutherland and Paddy Barnes both received byes into the last sixteen of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing at this morning's draw at the Asia Hotel in the Chinese capitol.
