Author Emma Hannigan's final novel, written in the final months of her life prior to her death last March, is to be published next year.

A new research fellowship in memory of bestselling author Emma Hannigan has been announced by Breast Cancer Ireland.

The husband of Emma Hannigan, one of the country’s much-loved authors, paid tribute to his “soul mate” who passed away on Saturday.

The President says she will be remembered as a powerful advocate for Breast Cancer Ireland, leaving a lasting legacy through her work and her courage in dealing with a terminal illness.

"She gave me a voucher for a tattoo for my 40th, we were supposed to get one done together, but as Emma says herself, cancer robbed us of that."
