Eddie Irvine was battling to save his Formula One career today after losing his place at Jaguar Racing for next season.

Jaguar will be making an announcement on the future of drivers Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa on Monday with reports suggesting they are to be replaced for next season.

Eddie Irvine has shrugged off Jaguar Racing’s decision to axe him, and said: “This doesn’t really affect my plans for the future.”
