A journalist has told the Charleton Tribunal she would not consider sources who provided factual statements about a Garda investigation into allegations against Sgt Maurice McCabe to be smearing the sergeant.

A journalist has been told there is an obligation to tell the whole truth to the Charleton tribunal.

Journalists will again take the stand at the Disclosures Tribunal this morning – as it examines claims they were subject to a smear campaign about Garda whistleblower Maurice McCabe.
