The Deaf community has dismissed RTÉ’s proposal to simulcast a signed performance of the National Anthem ahead of Sunday's All Ireland football final on RTÉ News Now as unacceptable and disrespectful to the anthem.

RTÉ has agreed to broadcast in the full the signed version of the National Anthem before Sunday’s All-Ireland senior football final.

Yesterday, deaf community representatives accused RTÉ of excluding deaf viewers by not focusing the station's television cameras on ISL interpreters during the much-anticipated event.
