If the government will not properly deal with the housing crisis there should be a general election, according to Sinn Féin.

The cost of renting a home continues to soar — rents are now €274 a month past their previous peak during the days of the Celtic Tiger.

The Government has challenged the credibility of a report by the Simon Community which found that the vast majority of rental properties in our cities and larger towns are beyond the reach of those in receipt of state housing supports.
