Two asset transfers by a convicted sex offender to his now estranged wife have been set aside by the High Court on the grounds they were attempts to prevent his victim from satisfying a €200,000 damages award against his abuser.

A second man arrested as part of the investigation is still being questioned at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station.

"When you are accused of raping someone, you then sit down and start thinking thoroughly why would someone come up with all these lies if not trying to destroy your life."
