Smart work by a local authority and a university has turned a venerable bank building into a city game changer, writes Tommy Barker.

University College Cork has said it is satisfied it paid market value when it bought a former bank from a local authority for €800,000 more than its purchase price two years earlier.

Detailed plans of conservation work to retain historic features of a former city centre bank are included in an application to convert it to a business school for University College Cork.
