Eleanor Coppola, who documented the making of some of her husband Francis Ford Coppola’s best-known films and who raised a family of filmmakers, has died aged 87.

Sofia Coppola has revealed why she never added a more conclusive ending to her critically acclaimed film Lost In Translation, after the enigmatic final scene left fans guessing.

Sofia Coppola has described the women in her film as “parts of me at different stages of my life”.
