A third of calls to a telephone-based counselling service for adults who were abused in childhood have been received outside of service hours this year.

The Connect Trade Union has voted to seek to increase the number of women taking up apprenticeships in the trades.

A counselling service has said more than half of callers to its helpline in the first six months of this year reported being sexually abused as a child.
