The country is preparing to "spring forward" - with the clocks changing at 1am on Sunday morning.

The clocks went back in the early hours of the morning which means the evenings will be getting darker earlier for the rest of the year.

The change will occur on Sunday, October 29 at 2am.

Whatever the merits or otherwise of retaining the twice yearly changing of the clocks, ‘springing forward’ on Sunday morning isn’t just about losing an hour’s sleep.

The clocks are going back this weekend by one hour as Winter Time is officially upon us.

Tomorrow morning, Sunday October 25, at 2am the clocks will magically go back an hour to 1am, giving you another hour in the sack Sunday morning.

Global time will stand still tomorrow (Tuesday), delaying midnight by a second.

At 1am tomorrow the clocks will go forward by one hour.
