Is childhood a thing of the past? Seems so, when the Children’s Rights Alliance is in favour of the Government’s decision to set the so-called digital age of consent at “the lowest age possible” which in this case is 13 years.

The Children’s Rights Alliance has urged a UN committee which will review Ireland’s record on children to make recommendations, including urging a ban on corporal punishment and a review of the gardaí’s Pulse system.

The Government has failed children with mental health needs, according to the annual report card issued by the Children’s Rights Alliance which said the Government was repeatedly failing to meet its own targets.
